How we research, write and correct our content.
The rules we apply to every guide, comparison and how-to on this site. Written so you can hold us to it — and so a human can recognise this wasn't produced by a generic content engine.
Who writes what you read
Every guide and comparison is written by an identified author and reviewed before publication. We do not currently commission freelance content. If that changes, we will disclose it before publishing the first freelance piece and require the same conflict-of-interest disclosure from freelancers as we require of ourselves.
Short factual updates — price changes, rail additions, feature launches — may be pushed by the editor without a secondary review, but always carry a dated note describing what changed and why.
Where our facts come from
Features, pricing, and capabilities are verified against Gemba's current product documentation. We review this at minimum quarterly and when we receive notification of a product change. If Gemba's documentation conflicts with our text, we update within 5 working days of discovering the discrepancy.
Competitor pricing and features in comparison tables are sourced from competitors' published pricing pages or official product documentation. We link to these sources where accessible. We do not use third-party data brokers or unverified estimates. When a competitor's pricing is unclear, we note "verify on [provider] website" rather than stating a figure.
FCA register data, PSR publications, Bank of England payment statistics, and BACS/Pay.UK documentation are used for regulatory and statistical claims. We link to primary sources. Interpretation is our own unless stated otherwise.
How to report an error
Email editor@financeb2b.co.uk with the page URL, the claim you believe is incorrect, and the source for the correct version. We will acknowledge within 2 working days and publish a correction within 5 working days if the claim is verifiably wrong.
Corrections are noted at the bottom of the relevant page with a brief description of what changed and when. We do not silently edit factual errors — the correction note remains permanently.
Update cadence
Major guides are reviewed in full at least annually. High-volatility content (pricing comparisons, feature matrices) is reviewed quarterly. Pages that haven't been reviewed recently carry a "last reviewed" date so you can judge currency yourself.
Commercial relationships disclosed
We earn an Introducer commission from Gemba. This is disclosed on every page via the footer note. No other commercial relationships exist at the time of writing.
Our comparison tables include competitors we'd recommend over Gemba for specific use cases. We do not artificially suppress competitors' strengths in order to favour Gemba. The commercial relationship influences what we cover (we cover Gemba in more depth than alternatives), but not the accuracy of what we write about Gemba or its competitors.
If we develop commercial relationships with any other providers, we will disclose these on this page and in the relevant content before or at the time of publication.
