About us

We help UK teams pick a business bank that fits — without the sales-deck gloss.

financeb2b.co.uk is a small, independent editorial site. We write plain-English guides about UK business banking and help companies onboard onto Gemba's FCA-authorised payment infrastructure. We're not a bank, and we don't pretend to be one.

Two things, in plain terms

We are simultaneously two things:

Thing one
An editorial site. We publish reviews, comparisons and how-to guides focused on UK B2B banking — payment rails (FPS, BACS, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT), multi-currency accounts, virtual IBANs, payroll infrastructure, card issuance. We write for finance managers at small and mid-sized UK companies who don't want to read another whitepaper.
Thing two
An Introducer Partner for Gemba. Gemba Technologies Ltd is an FCA Authorised Payment Institution (FRN 804853) that runs the banking infrastructure we recommend most often for UK SMEs with international payment needs. We have an introducer agreement: when someone opens an account through our links, we receive a share of future transaction fees. This is how we pay our bills. We disclose it on every page.
What we are not
A bank, an FCA-authorised firm, a financial adviser, or a neutral price-comparison engine. We have a commercial relationship with Gemba. We think Gemba is a strong fit for UK SMEs that want multi-currency accounts quickly — but we also write honestly about where it falls short and where Wise, Revolut, Starling or Airwallex might be better for you.

The honest version

Most UK business banking content online is either (a) produced by the banks themselves, which means it reads like a brochure, or (b) scraped affiliate content with no real judgement behind it. We spent too long helping friends and former colleagues untangle poor business account decisions — a payroll bureau that signed up to a tier with wrong FX charges, a consultancy stuck on CHAPS when they should have been on SEPA, a Shopify seller losing 3.2% on currency conversion to their own bank.

So we picked one platform we actually know well — Gemba — and built a site around it. Onboarding, support, currency configuration, API setup, virtual IBANs for client segregation. If you open a Gemba account through us, you get the same product you'd get direct, plus a short onboarding call from us to make sure the setup matches your use case. That's the whole offer.

How we choose what to write about

Our editorial policy spells this out in detail, but the short version: we write about situations we've actually seen UK teams hit, not SEO-generated topic lists. Every guide is reviewed against the current Gemba product documentation. Our comparison pages include competitors we'd recommend over Gemba for specific use cases.
